With over three decades of experience in the energy industry, Susan Ackerman brings to the WPP Board deep expertise in energy regulation, government, smart grid, policy, and legislative relations. Her experience includes work as an attorney on Bonniville Power Administration rate cases at FERC, leading the regulatory affairs department at NW Natural, represented clients in rate cases in private practice, serving on the Oregon Public Utilities Commission from 2010-2016, chairing the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners' Electric Committee, serving on the Electric Power Research Institute's Advisory Committee, serving as a NARUC representative on the NARUC-U.S. Department of Energy Smart Grid Working Group, and most recently as chief energy officer at the Eugene Water and Electric Board. Susan holds a BA from Augustana University in South Dakota and a JD from the Northwestern School of Law at Lewis & Clark College in Oregon.

Michelle brings 30+ years of utility operations expertise, financial expertise, and a collaborative leadership style to the WPP board. She retired from Roseville Electric Utility in 2022 after serving as Director for 12 years, overseeing all aspects of utility operations. She was the first woman named to the Director position of the utility in its nearly 100 years of existence. Prior to Roseville, she worked for the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, KPMG Peat Marwick; served as President of the Northwest Public Power Association, President of the California Municipal Utilities Association, Chair and Commissioner of the Balancing Authority of Northern California, Chair and Commissioner of the Transmission Agency of Northern California; and was a member of the Western Energy Institute Board of Directors. She holds a BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Bill brings to the board an unparalleled understanding of western power grid issues and a deep institutional knowledge of the region’s operations and resource adequacy challenges. His 40+ year career in the energy industry includes leading the Mid-West Electric Consumers Association for six years; serving as Deputy Administrator and then Administrator of the Bonneville Power Administration; managing the Western Montana Electric Generation and Transmission Cooperative for 16 years; founding Prairie Power Limited, Canada’s first generation and transmission cooperative; and working for the Public Power Council in the Pacific Northwest and the Idaho Public Utilities Commission. Bill holds degrees in forestry from the University of Montana and economics from the University of Arizona.

Doug has served as a consultant and advisor to the global power industry, as a state utility regulator, and as a utility executive, and brings to the WPP Board expertise in energy policy, regulation, energy economics, renewables, and energy efficiency. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the New Mexico Renewable Energy Transmission Authority; Chairman of the Western Energy Imbalance Market Governing Body; member of the Western Energy Imbalance Market Governance Review Committee; member of the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission; led the Global Power consulting group for international consultancy IHS CERA (now S&P Global); Vice President of Regulatory Policy for GPU Inc., a multinational utility company; and was Vice President for Customer Operations at Jersey Central Power & Light, Metropolitan Edison, and Pennsylvania Electric Companies. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania.

With extensive experience in power system engineering, transmission planning, and electricity market design and implementation, Andrew brings operational expertise and an eye for innovation to the WPP Board. He currently leads the Technical and Partner Operations functions for Tapestry, a project at X, Alphabet’s innovation lab that is building AI-powered products for a greener and more reliable future grid; serves as Co-Chairman of the Energy Transition Forum; and serves as a non-executive director on several corporate boards. Previously, he was President and CEO of PJM Interconnection, the largest power grid in North America and the largest electricity market in the world. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University and a MS in Applied Statistics from Villanova University.
