Contingency Reserve Sharing Program to Add 10 New Members
Larger Footprint Now Covers Entire Western Interconnection except part of California and Mexico

The Northwest Power Pool Reserve Sharing Group Committee and Western Power Pool today announced 10 Balancing Authorities (BAs), currently members of the Southwest Reserve Sharing Group, will join the Northwest Power Pool Reserve Sharing Group (NWPP RSG) and Operating Committee and begin participation in the Reserve Sharing Program, administered by Western Power Pool, in spring of 2024.

The 10 new Balancing Authorities are:

  • Arizona Public Service Company
  • Arlington Valley, LLC
  • El Paso Electric Company
  • Griffith Energy, LLC
  • Imperial Irrigation District
  • New Harquahala Generating Company, LLC
  • Public Service Company of New Mexico
  • Salt River Project
  • Tucson Electric Power
  • Western Area Power Administration - Desert Southwest Region

The new BAs will begin operating as members of the Reserve Sharing Group and two committees in the spring of 2024.
