Key Details:
- Pay: $93,600 - $113,100
- Location: Remote in select states - must reside within the following areas: AZ, OR, WA, UT, NV, CA, WY, MT, ID, NM, CO, El Paso TX
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm PPT
- Benefits: Employer-paid health, dental, vision, and life insurance; PTO, 11 paid holidays, company-funded Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA), 401k with 6% match, and flexible hybrid working schedule
This role may be filled at either the Senior Staff Accountant I or II level. Senior Accountant II roles are aligned to the upper range, reflecting expanded system ownership and cross‑functional leadership.

Who You Are: You’re a collaborative, service‑oriented accounting professional who communicates clearly, values accuracy, and enjoys improving processes in a growing environment. Required for All Levels:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Hands‑on experience with AP, AR, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- FERC regulatory reporting experience (required)
- Ability to navigate utility‑specific account coding
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
Additional experience for Senior Staff Accountant II:
- Typically 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience leading or owning accounting system processes or system enhancements
- Experience developing or maintaining accounting procedures and documentation
- Comfortable partnering cross‑functionally (e.g., accounting, tax, treasury, IT)
- Ability to translate accounting and regulatory requirements into effective systems or processes
What You’ll Do: You’ll play a key role in supporting WPP’s core accounting operations and ensuring accurate, timely, and well‑documented financial reporting.
Senior Staff Accountant I:
- Own core accounting activities across AP, AR, general ledger, reconciliations, and close
- Prepare journal entries, analyses, and supporting documentation
- Resolve discrepancies and support billing and payroll‑related reconciliations
- Support audits, internal controls, and regulatory reporting
- Collaborate cross‑functionally and contribute to ongoing process and system improvements
Additional Responsibilities for Senior Staff Accountant II:
- Owning or leading the design and improvement of accounting systems
- Serving as a key accounting partner to Information Technology
- Developing and maintaining procedures, work instructions, and system documentation
- Evaluating system effectiveness and recommending improvements
- Acting as a technical resource and informal mentor within the accounting team
